Baby lamb leather is a natural byproduct from New Zealand's lambing season - they are from "casualties of nature" when they cannot survive after birth due to inclement weather or sickness. Naturally, we utilise this limited resource for our shearling lamb fashion range and have a growing pile of offcuts from our production.
Please note baby lamb leather has beither a bobbly pile, brushed pile or shorn pile and scraps can consist of a mix of these amazing textures. NB: scraps may consist partially of bald areas from the underarm or under leg areas. The good thing is that one can use the reverse nappa leather side in any case.Yes, babylamb leather has reversible finishes, and this wipeable finish means it is relatively impervious to water and soiling. Just wipe clean.
The picture shows approximately what 500gm looks like and you can choose between dyed black or a mix of our dyed colours. In time, the colour range is set to grow but this is just a new item for us at present. So get creative, combine with our possum fur offcuts to create a uniquely New Zealand creative piece.
